Lisa Blair inspired me because as a young woman with few sailing skills and even less money she pursued her sailing passion and yearning for adventure relentlessly. With so many hurdles and life’s lessons in front of her she may have slowed down but never stopped.
Today she has achieved what few sailors have and achieved a dream that for many is still a dream.

- One of two female skippers to complete the Sydney to Hobart Race ini 2016 out of a fleet of 109
- Sailed around the world 2011/ 2012 on the Clipper Race over 12 months
- First Solo Race to New Zealand on the Trans Tasman yacht race- only female skipper
- A RYA Yachtmaster
- A spokesperson for environmental impact
She is on the show today to talk about her passion, her mindset, the hurdles and the sacrifices that it has taken for her to live the life she now has. Lisa Blair hopes to become the first woman to circumnavigate Antarctica solo, non-stop, and unassisted.The 32 -year-old set sail from Albany, in Western Australia, on the estimated 16,000 nautical mile voyage on January 15.
“I’m hoping to do it in 94 days,” Ms Blair said.
The ocean ‘racetrack’ passes by the world’s three most notorious capes — Cape Leeuwin, Cape Horn off the coast of Chile and Cape Agulhas off South Africa.

Lisa Blair began sailing professionally in 2006 after completing a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Visual Arts at university and has since clocked up more than 50 000 nautical miles of ocean sailing. Lisa is always challenging herself and expanding on her sailing and maritime knowledge. This way Lisa can ensure that she is completely prepared for any and all scenarios that she may encounter at sea.
